With bamboo as a strategic element and key resource, we contribute to achieving the following UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

SDG 1: No poverty
- Income opportunities: Through the sustainable use of bamboo as a raw material, we create jobs and sources of income for the local population. This includes the cultivation, harvesting, processing and trading of bamboo products.
- Improving living conditions: Bamboo can be used as a building material to build low-cost and sustainable houses, which improves the housing situation and increases the quality of life.

SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
- Job creation: The entire value chain of bamboo – from cultivation to processing to use as a building material – creates many new jobs and business opportunities.
- Business start-ups: We support the establishment of small businesses and start-ups in the bamboo sector, which promotes economic growth in the region.

SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities
- Sustainable construction: Treated bamboo offers a sustainable alternative to conventional building materials and contributes to the development of environmentally friendly buildings. This is particularly important for the construction of affordable housing and infrastructure in rural areas.
- Reconstruction after disasters: Bamboo is also suitable for the rapid construction of shelters after natural disasters due to its availability and ease of handling.

SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production
- Efficient resource utilisation: Our projects promote the sustainable management and efficient use of bamboo. This includes the environmentally friendly treatment and utilisation of bamboo as a building material.
- Reduction of deforestation: By using bamboo instead of wood, we help to reduce deforestation and conserve natural resources.

SDG 13: Climate action
- Carbon storage: Bamboo forests act as carbon sinks and help to bind greenhouse gases. This helps to mitigate climate change.
- Adaptation to climate change: Bamboo is resilient to extreme weather conditions and can help mitigate the effects of climate change.

SDG 15: Life on land
- Biodiversity: Bamboo forests provide habitats for numerous species and contribute to the conservation of biodiversity.
- Erosion control: Bamboo helps to prevent soil erosion and ensure the stability of slopes, which helps to protect riverbanks and restore degraded areas.

SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals
- Co-operation: We work closely with local and international partners to successfully implement the project and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. These partnerships are crucial for sharing knowledge, utilising resources and achieving common goals.
Our values
- Sustainability
We design our projects to be ecologically, socially and economically sustainable in order to ensure long-term positive effects for people and the environment. - Empowerment and helping people to help themselves
We empower local people through education, training and resources so that they can develop their own solutions to the challenges they face. - Participation
The local population is a central component of our projects. Their ideas, needs and skills are actively incorporated into planning and implementation. - Equal rights
Our work promotes gender equality and social inclusion. Everyone should have the opportunity to benefit from our projects. - Partnership
We work closely with local and international partners to implement our projects and create synergies for maximum impact.
Our goals and values are consistent with the “5 P’s” of the World Agenda for Sustainable Development:
People
We end poverty and hunger in all its forms and dimensions and ensure that people can fully develop their potential in dignity and equality and in a healthy environment.
Planet
We protect our planet from degradation, including through sustainable consumption and promotion of sustainable production, sustainable management of its natural resources and immediate action against climate change. It is our concern that the Earth should be able to meet the needs of present and future generations.
Prosperity
We are committed to ensuring that people can enjoy a prosperous and fulfilling life and that economic, social and technical progress takes place in harmony with nature.
Peace
We promote peaceful, just and inclusive societies free from fear and violence. There can be no sustainable development without peace and no peace without sustainable development.
Partnership
We mobilise the resources needed to implement the Agenda. Through partnerships, we promote sustainable development based on the spirit of enhanced global solidarity, focusing in particular on the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable, and in which everyone can participate.
